The Food Apps We Love

At Jolly, we love staying up to date with the latest food apps. There are hundreds of applications out there for food lovers that are super fun and extremely informative.

Food & drink applications can really enhance your dining and culinary experiences, as well as teach you some useful skills. Here are some of Jolly’s favourite foodie apps of 2015!

Foodgawker

This app, created by gawkerverse, collects recipes from some of the internet’s most famous food bloggers and presents them in gallery format. You can scroll through some absolutely stunning food photography and, when a particular meal grabs your eye, click through to view the recipe! This app is great for adding recipes to your repertoire, as well as indulging in some Marks & Spencer’s style food porn!

Liquor Cabinet

Don’t know what to do with all of your almost-empty, mismatched spirits? Liquor Cabinet is a fun app that allows you to enter in the random liquors that are currently gathering dust in your press. When you do, the app will provide you recipes for the drinks that you can make using what you have! You can also use it to update you on items you need to restock. This is a great app to have on hand, especially over Christmas with unexpected visits from relatives!

Perfect Produce

This interesting app has a meaningful message: it aims to get people to stop wasting food. The app is an alphabetical index of information about all kinds of food. For each food, Perfect Produce provides you with nutritional information and details on how you should store it, as well as tips on how to sniff out the best quality items in supermarkets.

Escoffier Cook’s Companion

This app is perfect for seasoned home cooks. It features a timer and usage tips for various gadgets and utensils, as well as a very handy unit converter for when you’re using recipes with unfamiliar measurements. A really handy app. It is named after Auguste Escoffier, one of the most famous chefs in history.

3DAround

3DAround, set to be released in November, is an app that will revolutionise your Instagram dinner snaps! 3DAround will essentially turn your device into a 3D scanner, allowing you to take 3D images of your meals!
